From our food packaging to our cars to our computers, plastics play a big part in our lives. Many of the plastics we use are used and immediately disposed of. Most of these plastics are not being properly handled on land, eventually finding their way into the ocean. The “Great Pacific garbage patch” is an example of the problems facing marine life and human life. Did you know, this garbage patch is estimated to be larger than the size of Texas! The United Nations Ocean Conference estimates that the oceans might contain more weight in plastics than fish by the year 2050.

Mindful of this, Milhench offers compostable bags that help to reduce the impact on our environment from the production stage through the life cycle of the bag.

Compostable Bag process;
- Starts with Biobased polymers derived from renewable resources such as sugar, starch or NON-GMO corn. These polymers contain no phthalate, BPA and are non-toxic. They also meet ASTM D6400 standards.
- After use, these bags can be reused to collect compostable material. Composting is nature’s process of recycling decomposed organic materials into nutrient-rich soil.
- A natural organic soil supplement, compost improves soil quality without the use of chemical fertilizers. It also helps to control erosion, reduces the need for watering and improves air quality by mitigating the production of methane gas.
